After a successful 20 year career as an engineer supporting Department of Defense programs, Jim started his career as a Financial Advisor in 2006 when he joined his father James F. Boyle, Jr., at Smith Barney. After his father's retirement, Jim continued at Smith Barney until 2012 when he transitioned to Safe Harbor Financial.
Today, Jim's client base includes individuals, families, and companies. Some of these relationships date back to the 1970's, a true testament to the model of client service and client focus the Boyles employ. Jim's specialties include tactical portfolio management, retirement planning, education saving, 401k rollovers, annuities, and life insurance. Additionally, Jim develops and manages company retirement plans including 401k plans and SEP IRAs.
Jim believes a proper approach to wealth management involves first fully understanding the client's goals, need, and risk tolerance and then building a long term plan to support them. This customized plan then becomes a valuable "roadmap" that guides the client and Jim in their portfolio decisions from year to year. As a former engineer, Jim brings an analytical and tactical approach to managing client portfolios. His strategies are founded in disciplined processes and extensive research. The result is that clients not only understand what their investments are but why and how they fit into their overall strategy.
Jim has a Master's of Science degree in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from West Virginia Wesleyan College. He is a 20 year resident of Wall where he lives with his wife Diane and their four children, Jimmy, Ryan, Lauryn, and Owen.
